...we have been cultivating Genoese basil in Pra', a village located on the west coast of Genoa.
The name of our farming firm, Serre sul Mare (Greenhouses along the Sea) properly explains what makes our basil superior: it grows on the terraced fields exposed to the sun that slope down from the hills to the Ligurian Sea, in modern facilities and produced with the utmost skill and passion as handed down in our family through many generations. The basil cultivated in Pra’ is the finest basil in Liguria due to the optimal balance of flavour and taste.
It’s packed into bunches, the so-called bouquets, for sale to catering industry, retailers and large-scale retail channels, and used to prepare our hand-made pesto in our food business Il Pesto di Pra’.
